Everyone could benefit from saving a little money when eating healthier, that's why I LOVE Aldi. It eliminates the common excuse, "eating healthy is too expensive." At a typical grocery store in town, like Schnucks or County Market I easily spend $150-$200 on groceries for one week. When we heard that there was going to be an Aldi right down the road from us (instead of it being out of our way on the other side of town), we were overjoyed. At Aldi, I cut my grocery bill down to about $80-$120 a week! That's a big difference especially over time! I love how Aldi makes eating healthy extremely easy and cheap. They even offer organic options now too, which is AMAZING. Over the past few years this store has really improved the items that they offer, so there really is no reason not to shop here. Just like any other store you have to pick through the unhealthy foods and search for the healthier options. I know how easy it is to just load your cart with the junk seeing that 60-70% of most grocery stores are processed crap. Lucky you, I've already done most the work for you here. I've picked out my favorite top 20 foods that I purchase from Aldi and you will most likely always find in my kitchen! Get your pen and paper out and make a list. Or subscribe to my e-mail list to get my free grocery list and meal planning print out! Just click the 'FREE Printable' button on my homepage and fill out your information. Side note, yes you have to be a little bit more prepared when shopping here. You'll need a quarter to rent your grocery cart (don't worry you get it back when you return the cart), and you'll need to bring your own bags and bag your own groceries. If you don't want to worry about your own bags, just hunt down empty boxes in the store while shopping and add them to your cart. They're free and easy to load your groceries in. Once I unload my groceries at home I recycle the boxes. Piece of cake! Here we go, my favorite Aldi items that I consider to be great, healthy buys!
