Completing April's Nutrition Cleanup has been an incredibly eye-opening experience.  I have certainly changed the way in which I view food.  Prior to starting the program, I was focused upon what I would have to give up and deprive myself of in order to see results.  However, after completing the program, I realize that rather than feeling deprived, I actually felt satisfied and full throughout.  Simply changing what and how I ate, and not feeling hungry or existing on minimal amounts of calories, has altered my relationship with food.  April's firm-- yet understanding and accommodating-- guidance throughout was also very beneficial.  April knows how to push and challenge people in way that is motivating rather than cut-throat.  She is the first to celebrate and cheer her participants on, and I cannot recommend her program enough. - Kara

"I just finished an 8 week training session with April and will start her nutrition program next week. I was so intimidated to start the lifting session- I am overweight and low in the self confidence scale. April jumped right in and took me where I was- she helped me get stronger and to believe in myself that I could do it. Over the 8 weeks I injured my knee (not from lifting) and I had to scale back my program. April did not let me slide backwards- she found lifts and exercises that did not aggravate my knee and I continued on my journey. I didn’t lose a lot of weight but I lost inches and gained strength. April never stopped pushing me- she never let me fail- she is truly a wonderful person and trainer. 

I start her nutrition program next week and although I’m excited I know it will be tough. We talked about this and she has given me some tips and recipes to help with the transition off sugar and into clean eating.

"I began personal training and a nutrition group with April to lose weight and body fat. I loved that April was nonjudgmental when I explained that I hadn't worked out in 2 years. She created a workout calendar which included my input. Once I began training I thought I wouldn't be capable of completing the workout she had planned, but April was patient with me and encouraged me every step of the way to finish every set and rep. After the first session, I knew that I was no longer alone in this journey. April's tough love, patience, and humor got me through each workout. I could feel my body getting stronger and leaner.

The Whole 30 Nutrition Group was so beneficial too. While it may seem that elimination diets are a set up for failure, Whole 30 is a different story. I actually focused less on what foods I was "giving up" and more on the foods I was adding to improve my health. I learned that the "healthy" food that I previously ate was causing me to crave more food and overeat. With Whole 30, my craving dropped drastically. When I ate real food, my stomach slimmed down, I slept better, and I no longer needed coffee and sugar to keep me going throughout the day. April's Whole 30 plan was also realistic: 80-90% of the time you eat clean and the other 10-20% of the time you eat what you like. She also taught us how to determine if eating a treat was really "worth it." April also took time to check in with the nutrition group each day to give us information, cheer us on, and see our progress. In three weeks I loss over five pounds and five inches from my body. More importantly I gained control of my health after many failed attempts in the past year to lose weight.

“I completed 12 weeks of Personal Training (24 sessions) with April. She was very professional and supportive. We started out with an initial assessment of one max reps and measurements. She recorded and monitored my progress throughout the course of training.
