Interval Running Workout

This amazing weather has me thinking about running again! Who else?
I’ve been running since my Junior year of High School and haven’t really stopped since. My favorite running distances in High School were the 2 miler and 5k — those were also the 2 races that I performed best in. After High School I decided to take a break from competitive running and focused on slower long distances such as the 10k’s, 1/2 marathons and even a marathon! I enjoyed my time participating in many of the longer road races, but was ready for a new challenge. Currently, I’m back to being a big fan of shorter fast distances! The faster I can get it done the better. Who is with me?! 3-4 mile runs are the perfect distance for me especially since my training focuses on lifting and circuit training most days of the week.
If you want to get a quick and effective run done in a short amount of time, give this interval running workout a shot. I recommend using a watch with a GPS or the Nike + Run Club app. to measure your distances. 400 meters = 1/4 of a mile, 800 meters = 1/2 of a mile.
